Specification for Disc Fascia Artwork
Screen Printing; Litho Printing; ArtPixTM Digital Printing and JetPixTM UV Digital Printing all differ slightly in the way artwork needs to be presented. We have created a Universal Specification so that you do not have to worry about this. Just follow these simple instructions.
Create your artwork as a 120mm Square taking any background right into the corners. This is important; I know a disc is round: we will mask out the bits we don't want. Have a look at the illustration below if you are unsure about this.
Use no key lines just mark the exact centre with a cross.
Avoid placing any text or non-background detail in the area from the centre to a diameter of 25mm (40mm is better if your background is white, because the white density is different in this area).The background area will print from diameter 22mm to 118mm.
Avoid placing any text or non-background detail outside a diameter of 116mm.
Our software will take care of bleed at the edge and the central hole.
Minimum point size 6pt.
Ideally, you should avoid reversing small, white text out of CMYK because it can be difficult to read. (We have seen white text reversed out of clouds! Not as bad as snow but still best avoided.)
Save your file as a CMYK, not RGB, high res PDF, at a resolution of 300 dpi. Pictures must be embedded and text coverted to paths (outlines) . You can send it to us by using our secure file transfer system.
Please Note: Exact Pantone matching is not possible with Litho and Digital Printing because they use the CMYK 4 colour process system. We will do our best to match your hard copy colour guide (if you supply one) and in the case of ArtPixTM or JetPixTM we will normally supply a sample. If you decide not to have a sample, you agree to accept our best efforts to obtain the required colours.
